An 18-year-old boy who had stabbed a man to death in Mexico City was arrested on 17 January, after his mother went to the police with pictures he had sent her by mistake. The man recorded his act with his phone, before sending out pictures - including to his mother who showed them to the police in Milpa Alta south of the capital, the Excelsior newspaper reported on 19 January. The murder happened in a gym in nearby San Agustín Ohtenco and there were speculations on whether the victim was a criminal or a homeless man.
