Crimes claim a dozen victims around Mexico

Police found the bodies of four youngsters with signs of torture, early on 23 August in a village in the municipality of Tlanepantla, south east of Puebla El Universal reported on 24 August. The bodies were of two men and two women, apparently beaten and perhaps strangled to death. In Ixtapaluca south east of Mexico City, a man's body was found in a plastic bag tied with a bed-sheet. In Chalco south of Ixtapaluca, a bar owner was apparently suffocated to death by dissatisfied employees, El Universal reported. An employee informed police of the incident, explaining that the owner, 65-year-old Jorge N. did not share the bar's earnings with his staff. In separate incidents: three women including a teenage girl were shot to death on 22 August in the municipality of Candelaria Loxicha in coastal Oaxaca, south-western Mexico, the bodies of two men apparently shot to death were found in the municipality of Gomez Palacio in the western state of Durango, and the dismembered body of a man was found in plastic bags on 23 August in Matamoros in the northern state of Coahuila, El Universal reported on 24 August.
