Nine shot dead in western Mexico

Nine people including a teenager were shot or found dead on 23-24 July in Guadalajara and other municipalities in the western state of Jalisco, Mexico's El Universal reported on 24 July, citing police declarations. In Guadalajara late on 23 July, gunmen shot at a father and his teenage son outside a workshop, killing the 16-year-old and injuring the father. The corpses of two men with bullet marks were found beside two different highways in Jalisco; another man, apparently already dead from gun shots, was left at a clinic in the district of Zapopan in northern Guadalajara, early on 24 July; three men were shot dead in a roadside hotel called Eden near the town of Cocula, and the bodies of a father and son shot to death were found leaning against a kiosk in the town square of Santa María del Oro, south of Guadalajara.
